The Guardian Newspaper Limited To Assist 11Years-Old "Uchechukwu Azuka".

GUARDIAN Newspapers Limited has taken up the gauntlet to assist Master Uchechukwu Azuka, whose life-threatening health situation was published in the newspaper on Monday.

All his medical expenses will be taken care of by the organisation.

The Guardian had published that Uchechukwu, 11, a Primary Two pupil of Obichukwu Aro Primary School, Abia State, needs urgent help to undergo a surgery that would enable him to live.

His father, a poor artisan, Mr. Azuka Njoku and his mother, a petty trader, Mrs. Chinyere Azuka, who both hail from Obichukwu Aro South, Umuahia, Abia State, had pleaded with kind-hearted Nigerians and corporate organisations to come to their aid so that Uchechukwu would survive.

According to the father, Azuka, Uchechkwu fell on a long stick from the top of a bicycle, which pierced through his anus to the stomach. Since then, he has been receiving treatment at Nigerian Christian Hospital, Onichangwa Nlagu.

They said doctors need to carry out a major operation that would heal the wound that has refused to heal.

Uchechukwu's stomach is open in two places. The corrective surgery would enable him defecate normally and close up the affected areas.

The parents said the boy has been living by the grace of God.
