Ruma, who stood in for the Niger State Comptroller of Immigration, looked healthy when he arrived at the workshop. But all of a sudden he slumped few minutes into the presentation of his boss paper.
The organizers of the workshop immediately rushed Ruma to the Minna General Hospital, however, later is was reported that he had died before getting to the hospital.
According to the preliminary investigation, the the deceased, being an asthma patient, had a case of high blood pressure
The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Richard Oguche, said that the state Police Command was pained at the loss of the officer while in active service and prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
