Reports surfaced earlier today, January 12, that the documents of 2016 budget submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 22, 2015 had reportedly gone missing.
As the Nigerian Senate was going to commence deliberation on the proposed budget today, Senate leader Ali Ndume disclosed that the hard and soft copies of the budget documents had been stolen.
Following reports of the missing documents, #MissingBudget is now trending on Twitter, Nigerians have taken to social media to decry the development.

In another development, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and President Muhammadu Buhari have met behind closed doors following reports of the missing 2016 budget.
Saraki and Buhari met at the presidential villa in Abuja but the former Kwara state governor refused to disclose details of their meeting to state house correspondents who had thronged the premises of the villa to know details of the meeting.
