The Nigerian has expressed surprise at the return of the Ivorian striker but is happy to have him
back at Stamford Bridge as he also fights for his place in Mourinho's squad.

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has expressed delight at the return of legend Didier Drogba to Stamford Bridge. After his Uefa Champions League winning penalty in 2012, the Ivorian striker left London for China and
then Turkey before choosing to return to the club where he is highly revered and rejoin his old manager
Jose Mourinho.

"I heard the rumours [that Drogba would come back] but I thought there was no way it was going to
happen," Mikel told the club's website.

"I thought when he's gone, he's gone, but then I thought about it a bit more and realized it could happen
because of the connection that the gaffer and Didier have always had.

"I'm glad to have him back. It's like his home. He's fitting in perfectly well again. It's like he never went
away. It's good for the team because he's a big player and a big personality."

Mikel who returned to action for the Blues in their 3-0 defeat to Bremen during a friendly match on Sunday
also praised the club's acquisition of Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Mario Pasalic and Filipe Luis, players
he hopes can bring silverware to the side.

"The character and the belief that we have in this team, from the players that have been here a long time,
I'm sure that will transform into the new players.

"It's always a big pressure playing for this club. You always expect to win trophies every year so I'm sure
the new players that have come in will help us win more trophies.

Even though his future with the club came under lots of speculation having seen his play time dwindle
since the return of Mourinho last season after the signing of Nemanja Matic, the 27-year-old could still be
with the Blues going by comments from the manager.

"We have Matic and Mikel as [our] anchormen. They are positional players," the Portuguese said while
talking about his team's tactics.
