Many who come across the "Major Lazer" brand usually think at first it refers to a person which is "DJ Jillionaire" but before we come to Jillionaire as the face of Major Lazer, there also two other important figures; Record Producer Diplo and DJ Walshy Fire.
Its no news that many international artistes are beginning to explore the Africa diaspora for its diversities and uniqueness in areas of Music, Arts and Fashion. Africa has been known to be coupled with many talents and cultural dimensions which makes it unique and inquisitive to exploration. Everything they had done was strategic, Major Lazer’s business is designed to seek out new markets to extract value. Creating music is half of the business, touring is the other half. Lagos wasn't the only stop on the continent. With International Interest into the Afro Beats Genre and its sound, the EDM trio (Diplo, Jillionaire, Walshy Fire) explores the Africa Diaspora working and creating new sounds, genres with Africa's acts from Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica and South Africa.

In the words of Diplo, “Over the past few years we’ve had the chance to tour extensively and work with artists across Africa".

"These music scenes continue to inspire the music we make and sets we play. We wanted to bridge our music as Major Lazer with all these new sounds and genres coming out of Africa.”
