PHOTOS: UNILAG Students Give Out to the Less Privileged at Ajegunle in a Massive #UNILAGforHumanity Campaign

Students of the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG) yesterday visited the less privileged residents of Dust Bin Estate in Ajegunle area of Lagos State to give out different items like Cloths, Shoes, Sanitary pads, used phones, and food items in commemoration of the United Nations Environmental, Social and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) World Humanitarian Day, which was yesterday 19th August, 2015.

The convener of the great initiative, Nifemi Brown, in conjunction with the UNILAG Students Union (ULSU) gathered a group of like-minded students to collect various items from students across the hostels of the institution and assembled them yesterday morning, after which they all proceeded to Ajegunle to give them out. The project was also supported by Influential Individuals, Artistes and Online Media Personalities like Byno, UnilagOlodo, DJ Bazz, UnilagCoke, Olabode Sage, Tomiwa Talabi (Unilaggist), KampusFlowz and Our ExclusiveRawNaija Team.

Nifemi Brown, while expressing her joy and appreciating all the team members after the success of the project yesterday, said:

We took our time to put this together; we put smile, joy, and laughter on their faces; we have shown and proved to the World that we are all we’ve got. I can’t thank everyone enough, we achieved this in three weeks, THREE WEEKS!
“I’m overwhelmed. Where do I start from? Thank you everyone! God bless and enrich you all. I hope to be there for everyone else too. Next year will
be bigger, better and explosive. Yes! Next Year!! We did it!”

Some of the students who visited the slum however expressed their surprise at the level of underdevelopment in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.
