The temporary Sunday School teacher was struggling to open a combination lock on the supply cabinet. She had been told the combination, but couldn't quite remember it.
Finally she went to the pastor's study and asked for help. The pastor came into the room and began to turn the dial.
After the first two numbers he paused and stared blankly for a moment.
Finally he looked serenely heavenward and his lips moved silently.
Then he looked back at the lock, and quickly turned to the final number, and opened the lock.
The teacher was amazed. "I'm in awe at your faith, pastor," she said.
"It's really nothing," he answered. "The number is on a piece of tape on the ceiling."

"But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night."

The three parts of man needs to fed to stay alive, the body needs food, the soul needs information and the spirit needs revelation. Revelation from God's word does not come by merely reading the word, it comes by continuous meditation on what we read, the Rhema in the word comes as we mediate continuously. When roughage is eaten by the adult goat, it is chewed on, soaked with saliva, and then swallowed. This bolus of food is called "the cud". It goes down into the rumen to be attacked and broken down or digested by the micro-organisms. At regular intervals the cud is brought back up to the goat's mouth to be chewed on some more and then swallowed again. This entire process is called rumination. If you watch the goat's neck carefully, you can see him swallow and later regurgitate his cud. The goat will often burp to get rid of the gas produced by all the fermentation going on in his rumen. You can really smell the fermentation process on his breath. If something causes the goat to stop being able to burp up the gases, the gas will build up and bloat or swell up his rumen and he may become very sick with "bloat". When the bible asks us to meditate on the Word, it simply means that we should do exactly what the goat does with its roughage, bring the Word back and chew on it again. Instead of filling our mind with all sort of junk, ruminating on movies, you watch, the news, what someone said about you, or what they did not say, fill your mind with the Word of God. Study the Word, take it to heart, memorise it if need be, and bring it out to chew on it. What you think on the most moulds your life, it affects your thought pattern which in turn affects how you react to situation around you, if the Word of God is constantly there, then you can be assured that you will always take the right steps. If we want to live a victoriously life, we need to spend time thinking on the word of God, not on our problems or the things that bothers us, but on the word of God which is the vital ingredient for a life of victory and success. Joshua 1:8 says "This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success" (Amplified Bible). Make up your mind today to purposely think on God's Word, ruminate on it, and it shall be well with you.
Confession
I refuse to dwell or think about whatsoever is not lovely, just, right or godly, I am a winner, therefore God's word richly dwells in me, I am destined for the high places. Halleluyah!
