Cry no more! - Empowerment for Today, Tuesday, 10th June 2014

On a Lighter Note

(This section of this newsletter has no Biblical or theological significance, it is only meant to make you laugh or at least smile) "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones" (Proverbs: 17:22)

Think For Yourself

The businessman dragged himself home and barely made it to his chair before he dropped, exhausted. His sympathetic wife was right there with a tall cool drink and a comforting word.

"My, you look tired," she said. "You must have had a hard day today. What happened to make you so exhausted?"

"It was terrible," her husband said, "The computer broke down and all of us had to do our own thinking."

A Word for Today

Cry no more!

"Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on."
-Exodus 14:13-15

We are fast approaching the end of the first half of 2014, a lot of expectations might have not materialised, and you may be crying out, but there comes a time, when you have to do much more than cry. The Israelites found themselves in a dilemma, they were in a fix and utterly confused, it seemed as if they were doomed, the enemy was coming against them fiercely, and they panicked, however the Word of God came to them to stop crying out, but rather to stand firm and move on. Moses assured them that God will fight for them; we need to rise up from where we are and begin the journey into the place God is taking us to. You might have gone through various situations thus far, that may attempt to keep you stagnant, but you need to make up your mind to take steps that will help you move into destiny. God told Moses to stop crying out and to 'move on'. At times discouragement creeps in to the extent that you want to give up, the bible records that David encouraged himself in the Lord, winners never quit, every new day is another opportunity to begin again, it's another opportunity to experience the goodness and faithfulness of God. God is the one fighting for us and like He did for the Israelites, every Egyptian we see today will be utterly destroyed.
God wants to shine His glory on you but you have to make a move, if the Israelites had stood still, probably they would not have experienced the victory that came their way, but they moved on as God instructed them, likewise, you need to make a move, try again, take that step, do something, and then you will see God do His own part. "…….As for me, being on the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren." Genesis 24:27b
Plunge ahead, don't fear or fret, go on with God on your side, the fact that it didn't work before doesn't mean you are a failure, you just learnt a way not to do it, stand firm and see the salvation of God which He will work for you!
