On a Lighter Note

Late to work

Tom had this problem of getting up late in the morning and was always late for work. His boss was mad at him and threatened to fire him if he didn't do something about it.

So Tom went to his doctor who gave him a pill and told him to take it before he went to bed.

Tom slept well and in fact beat the alarm in the morning by almost two hours. He had a leisurely breakfast and drove cheerfully to work.

"Boss", he said, " The pill actually worked!"

"That's all fine" said the boss, " But where were you yesterday?"

A Word for Today

Maximising the Gift

"I have been crucified with Christ ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

-Gal 2:20 (AMP)

We've just celebrated the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and we are indeed grateful for the cross, we thank God for the price that was paid on our behalf.
However, our new life in Christ ought to be one with a difference, we are supposed to be dead to sin because we have been crucified with Christ, sin and self ought to have been nailed to the cross. Our salvation experience ought to birth a total change in our way and manner of life. (2 Cor 5:17).
It has been said that salvation is free, but that's because someone paid the price on our behalf (Eph 2:8-9), we however need to play our part so that the great price that has been paid on our behalf will not be in vain. 'Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling'. (Phil 2:12). Salvation is something we need to continuously work at, we need to make it 'work in progress', always on our guard, not to allow sin in, as we are supposed to be dead to sin (Romans 6:1-2) and not sinning then repenting over and over again (Jeremiah 15:6). We need to daily renew our mind with the Word of God and guard our hearts. We need to keep ourselves and purpose in our heart like Daniel did not to defile ourselves. (Daniel 1:8).
We need to evaluate our lives, if we are still living the life of faith, have we wandered away from our first love, the zeal and drive we had when we first believed, is it still there or we are now laid back?
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with enduran
