Live Nation Australasia reported the news on the morning of April 1, though reps for the concert promoter confirm its press release wasn't an April Fools prank.
"Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia," the statement notes.
Billboard reported back in December 2013 that Kanye's seventh album was a work-in-progress, with its release penciled-in for summer 2014.
