Cote d'Ivoire international Yaya Toure,the Ivorian midfielder won the most prestigious individual prize for the third straight time on Thursday won the African Footballer of the Year Award.

The Manchester City midfielder beat Super Eagle midfielder, Mikel Obi, and compatriot Elephant of Cote d'Ivoire captain, Didier Drogba to pick the award at the Glo/CAF award held in Lagos.

Thursday's win made it the third successive continental football crown for the former Barcelona midfielder.
